Pumpkin and Diabetes – From Rats to Pies

January 27th, 2012

Through the years, people have been used to using herbal medicine to aid them cure their illnesses and diseases and the Chinese have proven for thousands of years now that herbal medicine mostly answers all our problems with regards to our health. And right now, they have found that pumpkin for diabetes, which is one of the most killing diseases in the whole world, is related to help cure the disease.

Aside from the fact that bitter melon could help people with diabetes deal with their disease and help cure them, pumpkin is one addition to those herbal or natural ways to cure it. And there are now products of pumpkin for diabetes that people could enjoy to help them deal with it.

Findings In 2007

Last July 2007, Asian pumpkin has been found out to cure diabetes by a research conducted in China though they first implemented the method of introducing the pumpkin to rats. So it is therefore only early to conclude that pumpkin could work for humans who have diabetes but more and more people believe that pumpkin could really help cure the disease.

According to the research, pumpkin extract help protect the pancreatic cells especially of those people who are suffering from Type 1 diabetes. And though their findings, it may help it that the people who have Type 1 diabetes be protected thus preventing further damages when they take in pumpkin extracts.

And the researchers also found out that the pumpkin extract may help save some people but not all, and they are just thinking that it would greatly play part on those insulin-making pancreatic cells or help revive diabetes-damaged pancreatic cells. However, what they also found out is that those rats that are non-diabetic were not fully affected by those pumpkin extracts and they are just hopefully praying that this discovery would work for humans.

Treats To Fight Diabetes

But right now, even if it is too early to conclude that pumpkins would work for humans with diabetes, many people and organizations are now introducing pumpkin for those people with diabetes. Tribute to Nothronychus

January 25th, 2012

Nothronychus is a genus of dinosaur classified in the group Therizinosauria, strange theropods with a toothless beak, a bird-like hip (resembling the non-related ornithischians) and four-toed feet, with all four toes facing forward. The type species of this dinosaur was found by Kirkland and Douglas G. Wolfe in 2001 near New Mexico’s border with Arizona, in an area known as the Zuni Basin. The name Nothronychus, derived from Greek meaning ’sloth-like claw’, was selected because the animal reminded Kirkland of a giant ground sloth. It is the first example of therizinosaurs to be found in the Americas. Previous discoveries had been from China and Mongolia. Nothronychus was larger than Erlikosaurus or Segnosaurus but in some ways more primitive than these Asian relatives. A related dinosaur from a significantly earlier period, Falcarius utahensis, was discovered in Utah in 2005. The sloth-like Nothronychus lived 90 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous Period of the Mesozoic era, in swampy forests similar to modern bayous in Louisiana. The era was a period of extreme global warming, with ocean levels 300 m (1000 ft) higher than current levels and a significantly reduced amount of dry land. Almost no dinosaur fossils have been found from this time, particularly in North America, making this and associated discoveries very important. Nothronychus is a member of the theropod group of carnivorous dinosaurs that includes Tyrannosaurus but Nothronychus, and its close

Weighing in on topics as varied as capitalism, feature films, China, and Google, the conversation invariably returns to newspapers and journalism. He answers charges about the political slant to his papers, and rejects the idea that the government must get involved to ensure the survival of a free press (an idea suggested by Dan Rather). “A bailout for newspapers?” Rupert Murdoch calls it “rubbish, and very dangerous rubbish.” – Hoover Institution Rupert Murdoch is an Australian-American global media mogul. There were some really hard-hitting question the CNN addressed to America’s next potential Presidential candidates on the network’s recent debate, such as: “iPhone or Blackberry?”, “Pepsi or Coca”, “Dancing with the Stars or American Idol?” and “Spicy or mild?” Half of all unemployed Americans have been out of job for six months, 44 million Americans are on food stamps, American home sales dropped by $ 6.3 trillion since the housing crisis appeared and CNN are asking the next potential American president about pizza? Gerald Celente , the director of the Trends Research Institute shares his opinion on the GOP candidates with RT. Steve Forbes is championing a return to a gold standard in five years time. Will that help the slumping American economy though? Gerlad Celente of the Trends Research Institute says no. Forbes has flip-flopped on the issue before and his predictions regarding the price of oil never panned out. Today, it seems, like the only thing “good as gold” is the decline of the US dollar. Celente’s accurate forecasts include the 1987 stock market crash, the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the 1997 Asian currency crash” and “the 2007 subprime mortgage scandal.” His forecasts since 1993 have included predictions
